About Prof Zelda G Knight​​

I am a scholar in the field of psychoanalytic / psychodynamic psychotherapy training and research and to this end, I have published extensively in international journals and academic books. I have edited two books on psychoanalysis, published in NYC, with a third edited book on psychotherapy due in 2023.  I have presented numerous academic papers at conferences worldwide, and have been a keynote speaker several times at international conferences. I mostly teach on the Master’s programme in psychotherapy and couples counselling, as well as supervise postgraduate students and champion qualitative research.  I am interested in psychotherapy processes and the therapy relationship, as well as psychobiography work.  I am a NRF Rated Scientist, Professor of Psychology, and a practising Counselling Psychologist. I have organized several international psychotherapy conferences, including a World Congress, reviewer for manuscripts for various psychotherapy journals, and I am on the Editorial Board for an international journal on psychotherapy process. I am also the current Vice President of the World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP) (African Chapter), a worldwide organization that promotes psychotherapy in all its forms.  I have been a Resident Visiting Professor to the University of Valencia, Spain, the Sigmund Freud University, Vienna, and about to be the same to University of Prince Edward Island, Canada.
