About Mr. N Buthelezi

Nkululeko Buthelezi is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Private Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Johannesburg, where he is also an LLD candidate. Nkululeko obtained his LLB and LLM in Labour Law from the University of Johannesburg in 2021 and 2022, respectively. He also tutored Business Law 1A and 1B in the Department of Practical Business Law in 2021 and Law of Contract in the Department of Private Law in 2022.

His research primarily focuses on the influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) on contract law, with a special focus on the use of artificial intelligence in contracting, especially autonomous agents and electronic persons, as well as their legal personhood and contractual capacity. His other research interests include data protection law and collective labour law, with a particular focus on strike law.
