Research Interests

My research interests are in human factors engineering, maintenance technologies, engineering management and change management in era of the 4IR. I also focus on the pressure equipment research such as fitness for service, risked based inspections, reliability, design and analysis.

Biography

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Technology at University of Johannesburg. I hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (UJ), MBA (Concordia University St Paul) and a Certificate in Basics of Project management (UNISA). I am a member of the Engineering Council of South Africa, South African Institute of Mechanical Engineers and South African Institute of Business Management Scientists. Prior joining academia I have worked in various companies within engineering consulting, power plant and mining industries with the focus on engineering design, analysis and maintenance. I am an emerging multidisciplinary researcher with focus on various engineering and engineering management topics in the era of 4IR. I’m also involved in teaching and learning and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. I actively participate in the department activities as a departmental First Year Seminar Coordinator, Drawing and Computer Aided Drawing Cluster Leader, and Facilitator of the departmental Articulation Agreements Committee and other activities. I also keep a close relationship with the industry to assist my students with real world examples to foster practical knowledge.
