Dr Lethiwe Nzama-Sithole

Dr. Lethiwe Nzama-Sithole, a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head in the Department of Commercial Accounting at the University of Johannesburg, brings over 19 years of diverse experience to academia. Specializing in Auditing and Internal Controls, she teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including at the Johannesburg Business School. Alongside her teaching role, she actively engages in research, community service, and leadership positions.

Holder of a PhD in Auditing and Certified Internal Auditor, Lethiwe supervises a range of students, from PhD candidates to BCom Honours students. Her contributions extend beyond the classroom; she serves as a board member for the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa and the University of Johannesburg Pension Fund. Additionally, she participates in various committees and projects, such as the Continuous Auditing for Public Sector Internal Auditing (CAPIA) research initiative.

Recognized for her excellence, Lethiwe received the Educator of the Year 2022 Award from the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa. She was also honored as a Semi-Finalist for the Gender Mainstreaming Awards in 2023 and awarded an honorary membership by the Golden Key International Honour Society for her outstanding contributions to academia, leadership, and service.
