The Tshwane University of Technology intends to increase its research outputs and throughput of postgraduate student, strengthen supervision, and add onto its number of postdoctoral research fellows to significantly expand its research base.
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is a vibrant and cosmopolitan university, anchored in Africa, dynamically shaping the future through innovation and the collaborative pursuit of knowledge, and striving towards global excellence and stature (GES).
The fellowship is awarded for 24 months, starting from 1 May 2023. It comprises two phases as follows:
Phase 1: 12 months of research at the Tshwane University of Technology or University of Johannesburg.
Phase 2: 12 months of research at the University of Johannesburg or Tshwane University of Technology
The Postdoctoral Research Fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis, considering the candidate’s academic achievements, potential as an independent researcher and the extent to which s/he meets the requirements of the call. Candidates should approach suitable hosts at each institution in their field of research expertise before applying. The Postdoctoral Research Fellows will conduct their research projects under the joint supervision of Tshwane University of Technology and University of Johannesburg experienced researchers. The research intended to be done should be aligned with research areas of hosts at both universities, TUT and UJ.
Stipend: R250 000.00 per annum
Requirements:
- A PhD obtained within the last five years
- Full CV with contact details for three referees
- A proposal outlining the plan for the fellowship
