About Dr. Sthabile Kolwa
Sthabile Kolwa is a radio astronomer who studies galaxy evolution using both observations and simulations. They completed their Ph.D. at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Currently, they conduct research using deep, wide-field surveys obtained within MeerKAT (MIGHTEE), the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope and LOFAR. Sthabile is also involved in developing anomaly detection software pipelines for future observations with the Vera C. Rubin Observatory.
Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN):
- Observational constraints on AGN feedback
- The impact of large-scale structure on AGN activity
Radio Source Populations
- The evolution ofradio-AGN and star-forming galaxies
- Systematic bias and selection-effects in radio continuum surveys
