About Mr Pieter Jacobs

Pieter Jacobs is an award-winning South African playwright, creative practitioner, and arts executive. He studied performing arts at Tshwane University of Technology and graduated MA Cum Laude from the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Literature, Language and Media in 2015. His performing arts career includes acting roles in numerous stage plays and television drama. A number of plays written by Jacobs were staged in South Africa and abroad. His professional experience includes the role of Marketing and Operations Manager at Business and Arts South Africa, a seven-year tenure as CEO of the Arts & Culture Trust, Chairperson of Arterial Network South Africa, and the role he currently holds as the Head of Arts & Culture at the University of Johannesburg. In 2015, the Mail & Guardian included him on their list of the top 200 noteworthy young South Africans.
