The Multilingual Language Services Office partners internally, and locally and nationally with various stakeholders in line with the University's strategic objectives of national and global reputation management and global excellence and stature.
Internal collaboration includes the Department of African Languages, Department of English, LanCSAL, FADA, School of Communication, and the Transformation Division.
Other universities − The Multilingual Language Services Office benchmarks regularly with other South African universities regarding language policies and issues. These universities include North-West University, Rhodes University, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of South Africa, Vaal University of Technology, and University of the Witwatersrand.
Centre for Legal Terminology in African Languages (CLTAL) – The Multilingual Language Services Office participates in and contributes to the development of legal terminology for this dictionary project. The translation of the Sepedi/Sesotho sa Leboa Legal Dictionary is nearly completed.
Prolingua − Prolingua is an association for Afrikaans and English language practitioners. The Multilingual Language Services Office is represented at the monthly Prolingua meetings, during which interesting speakers give talks, and terms as well as other language issues are discussed.
South African Translators' Institute (SATI) – As members of SATI, the MLSO staff have access to a wide network of expertise. SATI has also formally endorsed the SLP in Afrikaans editing to be offered from next year.
