Feminism and Pan-Africanism: Short Learning Programme for Social Justice and Empowerment
Home » Faculties of Humanities »The Short Learning Programme is designed for young, unemployed matriculants, graduates, and anyone interested in business or activism from an African feminist perspective. This course gives you the skills to contribute to gender studies, social justice, and community development. If you are passionate about equality, human rights, and making a difference in Africa, this programme is the perfect starting point.
You will explore the foundations of feminism and Pan-Africanism, learning how these movements have shaped Africa and the diaspora. The course covers feminist theories, Pan-Africanist movements, and the intersection of gender and race in Africa. You will also learn about activism, advocacy, and the importance of culture, identity, and representation in driving social change. Practical skills in negotiation, diplomacy, research, and journalism will help you become an effective advocate for justice and equality.
Through real-world case studies and community organizing, you will see how African feminist and Pan-Africanist ideas are used to challenge oppression and promote liberation. The programme encourages you to think critically about future challenges and the direction of these movements. You will also gain tools to build unity, peace, and social justice in your community and beyond.
To enroll, you need a matric certificate or equivalent. The course runs for three months and is open to anyone interested in learning more about feminism and Pan-Africanism in Africa.
