4IR Technologies Advancing African Women: Short Learning Programme for Gender Equality and Innovation
The 4IR Technologies Advancing African Women Short Learning Programme is designed for young, unemployed matriculants, graduates, and anyone interested in business or activism from an African feminist perspective. This course explores the powerful role African women play in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). You will learn how technology can drive social justice, equality, and human rights, while gaining practical skills for careers in diplomacy, negotiation, advocacy, research, events planning, and journalism.
In this programme, you will discover the basics of 4IR technologies and their impact on African societies. The course highlights the unique challenges and opportunities for African women, focusing on the gender divide and the need for greater inclusion in technology and innovation. You will learn about policy and advocacy for a gender-inclusive 4IR, and how to support women’s participation in digital transformation and entrepreneurship.
The curriculum includes real-world examples and best practices from across Africa, showing how women are breaking barriers in technology, business, and leadership. You will explore ways to advocate for gender-sensitive policies and create new opportunities for women in the digital economy. The course also looks at future trends, helping you understand how to stay ahead in a rapidly changing world.
To enrol, you need a matric certificate. The programme runs for three months and is open to anyone eager to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in Africa’s 4IR era.
