Understanding Decolonisation Across Geopolitical Spaces

This project aimed to discuss and understand how decolonisation is conceptualized and manifests in various geopolitical contexts.
To initiate this dialogue, the Chair, in collaboration with Professor Jonathan Jansen, convened a group of local and international scholars
focused on these issues. The first workshop took place at STIAS (Stellenbosch) in March 2022, followed by a second seminar at SOAS (University of London)
in October 2023.

Following the success of these workshops, the project expanded to include more scholars with a specific focus on the African experience.
Participants include Siseko Khumalo (University of Fort Hare), Sharon Stein (University of British Columbia, Canada), Leon Moosavi (University of Liverpool),
Laura Hammond (SOAS, University of London), Nelson Nkoma (University of Malawi), Emnet Woldergiogis (AMCHES, University of Johannesburg),
Andre Keet (Nelson Mandela University), and Crain Soudien. These authors contributed to the STIAS and SOAS workshops in 2023.
