Who we are:

The University of Johannesburg Olympic Studies Centre (UJ-OSC) was launched in 2014 as a hub of reference that drives Olympic studies on the African continent. This Centre and others like it around the world are dedicated to sharing the principles and practices of Olympic philosophies and activities with professionals and researchers. The UJ-OSC is the first such centre on the African continent and the 38th in the world.

By sharing Olympic information and resources, hosting events and promoting academic activities, we aim to enable research and stimulate intellectual exchange. Through our relationship with multiple stakeholders globally, on the continent and locally we are able to provide the most insightful, relevant and up-to-date information on Olympic studies, research and opportunities for engagement in multidisciplinary fields.
