Research and Internationalisation
On 24 April 2015, the Department of Environmental Health hosted Professor Patrick Allard, an international Distinguished Professor from the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles. He conducted a public lecture to students from our department, faculty members and also alumni Environmental Health Practitioners.
The presentation took place in the library on the Auckland Park Campus and approximately 150 participants filled the room.
Professor Allard presented on the Society of Toxicology and Seeding Labs first and then Dr Gulumian presented the activities and opportunities within TOXSA and at NIOH. Dr Gulumian’s presentation was complementary to Professor Allard’s presentation, as it connected students and faculty to local scientists who work in the field of Toxicology and tackle issues of direct relevance to the country.
