About Dr. Maud Blose

Maud Blose is a senior lecturer in the Department of Communication and Media. She is currently a Teaching Advancements at a University (TAU) Fellow. She holds a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is also a Fulbright Scholar with a MSc in Broadcast Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Chicago, U.S.A. She has over a decade experience as a lecturer in the higher education sector. She teaches film and television, journalism, communication and media studies. She also supervises postgraduate students. Her experience also includes that of being a multimedia journalist and a columnist for a weekly newspaper. Her areas of interest in research include media and society, representation of black women in the media, African feminism, environmental reporting, e-learning and higher education.
