About Subhadeep Bhattacharjee

My specialization is Ecology and Nature Conservation Science. My current curricula in University of Johannesburg at Department of Geography, Environmental Management and Energy Studies (GEMES) as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow incorporate application of Remote Sensing & GIS in Nature Conservation and Species Distribution Modelling in response to the predicted Climate Change scenarios. During the first year of my Post Doc Fellowship, I have successfully completed the courses – “17PGRS000: Postgraduate Research Supervision”, “17REET000: Research Ethics in Postgraduate Supervision” and “17S5SNRQ: Supervision of Quantitative Research” from University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Each course was of 20 credits (200 hours) signifying National Qualification Level 08 of South Africa.

I have pursued MSc. in Environment Management (2006) from Forest Research Institute University, Dehradun, India and thereafter obtained PhD in Wildlife Science (2015) from Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun and Saurashtra University, Gujarat, India. My PhD thesis was on “Tiger Ecology” where I had monitored a population of reintroduced Royal Bengal tigers in Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan, India for a period of four and half years. After PhD, I was employed as a Field Biologist in Ranthambhore Tiger Conservation Foundation (RTCF) under State Government of Rajasthan. There my job responsibility was wildlife monitoring and conservation under Rajasthan State Forest Department and Union Government of India. Altogether, I have more than 11 years of working experience in various biodiversity conservation projects under government and non-government organizations. My
