About Dr. Ntandoyenkosi Maphosa

Dr. Ntandoyenkosi Maphosa is a Lecturer at the Department of Social Work. She joined the university in 2015 as Community Engagement Officer prior to assuming her current role in academia. Dr. Maphosa holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Fort Hare and a Master’s degree in Community Development from the University of Johannesburg.  She also holds a certificate in Postgraduate Supervision from Rhodes University. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctorate studies at the University of Johannesburg and her research niche areas includes; gender based violence, adolescent behaviours, restorative justice and community development. Ntando coordinates Internship for second year students and teaches developmental social welfare in South Africa and generalist social work practice with communities.
