Biography:

Madumetja Jerry Moselakgomo is a registered professional engineer with specialist training in transport planning and modelling. He joined the Department of Civil Engineering Science in 2022 after working in the industry as a consultant and research engineer for over 13 years, where he advised government planning authorities and private developers on matters relating to the provision of transport infrastructures and systems.

Madumetja is a comprehensive transport planning and engineering professional with a complete set of skills ranging from travel behaviour research, development of decision-making tools, public transport policy development and impact evaluation, land use-transport modelling, transport planning, transport economics, traffic engineering, and public transport planning and operations. He regularly chairs National Treasury’s Public Transport and Spatial Transformation and the IPTN Sessions at the Annual Southern African Transport Conference. He is currently pursuing PhD studies at UCT.
