About Dr. Simonov Kusi-Sarpong

Dr. Simonov Kusi-Sarpong received his PhD in Management Science and Engineering with specialisation in Operations and Supply Chain Management from Dalian University of Technology, China and MSc in Management with Specialisation in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Simonov’s research focuses on emerging and developing economies and investigates how green and sustainable initiatives such as lean operations, sustainable supply chains, sustainable risk analysis, circular economy, Industry 4.0, blockchain, reverse logistics, etc. and their synergies could be used to achieve sustainable operational excellence and supply chain performance.

His works has been published in journals such as OMEGA, the International Journal of Production Economics; Resources Conservation and Recycling; International Journal of Production Research; Technological Forecasting and Social Change; Production Planning and Control; Transportation Research Part A; Transportation Research Part E; Business Strategy and the Environment; Supply Chain Management: An International Journal; IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management; Journal of the Operational Research Society; Annals of Operations Research; Journal of Cleaner Production among others. Simonov is an Associate Editor of Circular Economy for Frontier in Sustainability, serve on the Editorial Board of Resources, Conservation and Recycling and has organised several special issues including a recently published special issue of which he was the Principal Guest Editor in International Journal of Production Research on “Multi-tier Sustainable Supply Chain Management for Global Sustainability”. He has many years of teaching and has taught large undergraduate and MSc lectures/classes from many countries including the UK and Ghana on modules such as Operations Management, Strategic Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Purchasing and Supply Management, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, Global Sustainability, and International Logistics. He has supervised PhD students to completion and currently supervising both PhD and DBA students.
