About Dr Ademola Fayemi

Dr. Ademola Kazeem Fayemi’s areas of competencies and interests include Bioethics in Africa, Research Ethics, and African philosophy. He has B.A. (Hons.), M.A., and Ph.D. in Philosophy from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye in 2004, 2007 and 2013, respectively. Ademola also has M.SC (Degree) in Bioethics from the consortium of Katholieke Universiteit, Leuven, Radboud University, Nijmegen and University of Padova, Italy in 2014. To his credit, Ademola has won some academic awards and distinctions: Departmental Prize, an award for the Best Graduating Student, 2001/2002 session, Post-Graduate School Commendation, for having a CGPA of 4.64, 2005/2006 session, European Commission Scholarship, Erasmus Mundus European Master Programme on Bioethics, 2013/2014 session.

He is a Faculty member at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he teaches Philosophy. He is also a Fellow, Erasmus Mundus Programme in Bioethics and is a member of the Nigerian Philosophical Association and the African Studies Association. He is on the editorial board of The Nigerian Journal of Philosophy and provides reviews for different journals (national and international) in areas of his expertise.
He has read papers at international conferences in Europe, North America, and West Africa. His articles have appeared in internationally indexed journals, books and conference proceedings. Currently, he is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy, University of Johannesburg.
