About Sedzani Mukatuni

Biography:

Sedzani holds a master’s degree  in Earth Sciences from the University of Venda, where he also completed his undergraduate studies. His thesis was titled: Geology and characterization of coal at the Mushithe Coal Occurrence, Soutpansberg Coalfield, Limpopo Province, South Africa. He is currently in his first year of PhD.

Inertinite in the Waterberg and Ermelo coalfields: origin and depositional environment

Supervisors:

Prof Nicola Wagner and Dr Marvin Moroeng

Research interests:

Coal characterisation, coal petrology, geochemistry, mineralogy, palynology and climate change
