Purpose
The SLP will assist small business owners to maximize efficiency while producing goods and services that effectively fulfil customer needs. The SLP’s objective is to assist small businesses in assessing and optimising operational activities, investigating and identifying operational risks, and developing an operations quality
management assessment for their small businesses. The SLP aims at applying these business practices to ensure a sustainable creation of goods and services in small businesses, while empowering communities that are previously disadvantaged.
This SLP will allow small business owners in local townships, both formal and informal, to gain knowledge on the basic practices of business operations management specifically related to small businesses, and will assist
their businesses to remain profitable and sustainable in the long term.

Admission Requirements
Selection Process
Grade 12 or NQF level 4 qualification to be admitted to the
programme.
The candidate should also be an owner of have a small
business, either formal or informal, or should be in the
process of starting a small business.
