Programme Fees


Purpose

The purpose of this SLP is to broaden and deepen the knowledge, understanding, insight and skills of Local Economic Development managers and practitioners and others involved in LED-related activities who are working at local government level to be competent to set up and manage a local economic development unit that will promote economic development, in order to create employment opportunities, reduce poverty and improve service delivery to local communities.


Admission Requirements

National Senior Certificate, NQF level 4 (NSC) obtained in 2008 or after, or Senior Certificate (SC) obtained prior to 2008. Experience in the fields related to public administration, economics or business. Applicants may be subject to an internal selection process. The SLP “Introduction to Local Economic Development” (S3E14Q) as pre-study is recommended.
