The programme focuses on basic counselling skills; educational and psychological assessment and providing learning and career support. In the six months/one-year internship the focus is on developing the understanding of the integrated nature of theory and practice within the schooling context.

In addition to the minimum admission requirements as outlined above, prospective students who apply for this degree may undergo a selection process. The selection process is based on previous academic achievement, personal skills, the ability to work in a team and the potential to learn the necessary skills to become an effective counsellor.
