Purpose

The purpose of this qualification is to produce graduates who have a systematic and coherent body of knowledge to apply principles and practices of Environmental Health; the ability to access and evaluate scientific information and have a high level of analytical, cognitive and generic skills; To provide graduates opportunities for continued personal intellectual growth, advancing with postgraduate study, contributing to the social upliftment of society constructively; To provide society with graduates who demonstrate initiative and responsibility; be involve in science and research development; to transform the leadership base in South Africa and conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner both in the workplace and society as required by the HPCSA.


Career Opportunities

Environmental Health Practitioners, Occupational Health and Safety Officers, Water Quality and Waste Managers identify, monitor and control physical, chemical and biological hazards that are harmful to human health.


Admission Requirements

Minimum APS of 24, English 4 (50%+), Mathematics 4 (50%+), Physical Science 4 (50%+) and Life Sciences 4 (50%+).


Selection Process

Selection will be based on academic merit.

Mathematical Literacy, Technical Maths and Technical Science are not accepted.
