Purpose
This short learning programme will provide participants with both theoretical insights into and practical activities in the development of academic literacy for postgraduate students. Beginning with a consideration of the linguistic challenges confronting students, it will then link disciplinary practices and values to various writing conventions before moving to specific research-related topics. Participants will be required to provide practical examples of student writing from their own environments and will also be provided with practical activities linked to each of the topics covered.
Admission Requirements
A potential ‘student’ should possess at least a Master’s degree or equivalent; and have a minimum of two years’ experience of research supervision, in Advanced Diplomas, Honours and/or Masters qualifications, at the time of registration, OR have commensurate appropriate Higher Education experience.

Selection is based on academic merit.
