Students’ Public Relations Association (SPRA)

The Students’ Public Relations Association (SPRA) is an organisation that was founded by Professor Dalien Rene Benecke and is managed by final-year Public Relations students at the University of Johannesburg. SPRA operates under the Department of Strategic Communications and serves as a bridge between Public Relations theory and real-world practice, particularly for students pursuing a diploma in Public Relations. We are committed to promoting academic growth, professionalism, and industry engagement. In collaboration with the Department of Strategic Communications, the association equips students with access to corporate exposure and practical experiences in the PR field. We uphold a strong culture of respect, inclusivity, and diversity, standing firmly against all forms of prejudice, whether racial, gender-based, or otherwise.

At our core, we value transparency, accountability, responsiveness, and active participation, proudly representing the voice and vision of Public Relations students at UJ.
