RIGEO
Review of International Geography Education Online ISSN: 2146- 0353
This is a new international online, refereed geographical education journal. Authors are encouraged to submit articles on all aspects of geographical education at all levels of the education system.

The purpose of the journal is to build bridges between geography teachers, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in order to disseminate the best theories and practices in terms of learning, teaching, training, curriculum development and textbooks in geographical education.

It is published bi annually and offers immediate open access.

RIGEO currently as a call for papers for a special edition of the journal: A Global Look at Geography Education at a Distance. Those conducting research on Distance Education and/or E-Learning should consider a submission. For more information, click here

This is a google groups network where anyone who teachers Geography can obtain useful and interesting geographical and environmental information and share it with others.
It comes highly recommended as the information shared is facinating and diverse.

Wetland Portal of South Africa

This portal was launched in October 2010. Its purpose is to serve as port of call for everything related to the nine South African wetland forums and to grant access to wetland information in general. 

There are nine provincial wetland forums on this site, of which seven are active. Information available includes minutes of meetings, documents and reports, photos and newsletters.
Key subject areas are: Alien Invasives, Biodiversity, Buffer Zones, Communities of Practice, Education, Heavy Metals, mine water and mining,  and natural resources management.

The portal also hosts a Discussion Site to allow wetlanders to share ideas or interact on wetlands issues.

The site has links to 22 local and 6 international organisations that deal with wetlands conservation and management. The site also hosts an Associations page, where recognition is given to organisations actively involved in wetland conservation and management. 

South African Weather and Disaster Information Service

This is a fascinating site with live web cams of weather events and disasters, such as the recent volcanic eruption in Africa. A must for any person interested in physical geography and environmental management.

Don't let the name put you off. The site lists environmental jobs on a regular basis, such as environmental scientist, environmental consultant and senior environmental officer.
Search for jobs using the keywords 'environmental' and 'South Africa'.
