Department of Geography, Environmental Management & Energy Studies
Our research and teaching strengths include:
- GIS and satellite remote sensing
- Environmental management
- Urban studies: housing, education
- Energy issues
For the 2013 academic year the department had 382 first year students, 192 second year students, 132 third year students and 70 postgraduate students, of which 34 were Honours students, 26 Master’s students and 10 doctoral students.
There are roughly 600 undergraduate students in the department, studying either Geography or Environmental Management. Students mostly come from the faculties of Science, Humanities, Management and Education.
