Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Finance Learning Program now available at UJ

The CGMA FLP is a digital pathway of acquiring the ACMA, CGMA designation. The Objective Test Questions (OTQs) are replaced by an online learning environment, still covering material for the E, F and P pillars for each relevant level. Once you have gone through all the online material, you will be eligible for the case study exam at the respective level.

The case study exams are still facilitated the same way as the Professional Qualification (PQ) pathway. Under the FLP, students will be eligible to write the case study exam once all the subject material is completed. To ensure that students go through the online study material, there are mini tests (i.e. ‘test your understanding’; OTQs and ‘end of skill&’ OTQs) that they can be taken as often as you need to ensure that they fully understand each topic.

In line with the digital transformation of accounting education, there will be no contact classes, instead the online study material will be delivered digitally through several competencies (skills
and topics) for each pillar and additional online recordings will be made available on the FLP platform. If you choose to register for the FLP through UJ, there will be tutors available to help students through consultations on areas they battle with, and the only formal online classes will be the workshops facilitated by UJ lecturers focusing on the case study pre-seen analysis and they will augment the resources already available on the FLP platform.

Entry Requirements

Generally prospective students with a commerce degree in Accounting and Finance including the following UJ qualifications: BCom (Accounting), Advanced Diploma in Financial Management (ADFM), and Honours & Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM) enter at Management level before progressing to the Strategic level but if an alumni interested in the programme is already a CIMA student, they can enter/transfer with all their exemptions – this will apply to UJ alumni that have already started their CIMA journey after their formal qualification.

Prospective students with a Diploma in Accounting and any other qualifying bachelor’s degree from UJ can enter at Operational Level, progress to the Management and Strategic levels, respectively. Each level will take about 6 months (4 months of digital learning, case study preparation and exam and 2.5 months for the case study results).
