The call to action for the 2023 Nelson Mandela International Day is “Climate, Food & Solidarity”

Please deliver your donations in the UJ Community Engagement wheelie bins available at the entrances of all four campuses.

In celebrating Nelson Mandela International Day, the UJ Community Engagement unit invites staff and students to join them on 18 July 2023 at:

  • Auckland Park Kingsway Campus – Helen Joseph Tertiary Hospital.
  • Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus – Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital.
  • Doornfontein Campus – Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital.
  • Soweto Campus – Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital.

Buses will depart from each campus at 08:30 on the 18th of July 2023.

You may also volunteer in other organised outreach projects across Mandela month with different community-based organisations and schools.

For more information, please contact the following colleagues for participation:

‘I have done whatever I did, both as an individual and as a leader of my people, because of my own experience in South Africa and my own proudly felt African background’ – Nelson Mandela.
