The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur (India) invites you to a webinar entitled: Power Distribution Systems Planning and Operation – Challenges and Opportunities” by Dr. Narayanan K.

Abstract:

Modern Power Systems has undergone tremendous change with increasing emphasis on Clean and Green Environment. This has led to an increased use of Renewable Energy Technologies. Even small producers of Electrical Energy are encouraged in the modern grid operation. This has led to more planning and operational challenges in the Distribution System where small scale producers of Electrical Energy are encouraged to interface to the grid. The modern grid operators are required to be good planners along with being effective operators.

About the speaker:

Narayanan K received the B.E degree in EEE from Anna University, Chennai in 2008. He received the M.Tech degree in Power Systems and Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from MNIT Jaipur, India in 2010 and 2016 respectively. He is currently Senior Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur, India. He has shouldered various academic responsibilities as well. He is a senior member of IEEE Power and Energy Society, life member of Indian Society of Systems for Science & Engineering (ISSE). He is currently acting as a reviewer for various journals of international repute. He has guided 15 Masters thesis. He has published 80 research articles in various international conferences and Journals of repute. His areas of research interests are Distribution System Planning, Operation and Analysis.
