Fundraising Drive for Women’s Day

The Department of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering Students Association (CESA), in collaboration with the UJ Community Engagement Office, invites you to participate in a Fundraising Drive for Women’s Day to support women in need in our community.

The Chemical Engineering Students Association (CESA) will be running a fundraising drive for the Time for Change women’s shelter. Many vulnerable women and children reach out to the shelter as a lifeline in desperate need of support. The shelter is a non-profit organization (NPO) that relies on contributions from the community to remain active. The shelter needs clothing, non-perishable food items, and toiletry packs (toothbrushes, toothpastes, towels, soaps, sanitary pads, and body lotion). To show our support and assist these women, CESA would like to extend the invitation to students and staff members to participate in the drive before Women’s Day (9 August 2022). Thereafter, the collected items will be donated to the Time for Change Shelter. The collections will be coordinated by Dr Rishen Roopchund and Miss Vizelle Naidoo in collaboration with the UJ Community Engagement Department. The more the participants in the project, the greater the possible contributions, and the bigger the difference and the impact we can make.

Collection End Date: 08 August 2022
Coordinators: Dr Rishen Roopchund and Miss Vizelle Naidoo
