The Centre for Applied Data Science and the Department of Marketing Management hosted a series of enriching workshops from April 8-11. These sessions, led by Distinguished Visiting Professor Samuel Fosso Wamba and Visiting Professor Nripendra Rana, provided Honours, Masters, and PhD students with advanced methodologies and frameworks essential for excelling in research.

The workshops kicked off with a seminar on Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM), where participants learned to develop hierarchical frameworks crucial for decision-making in DFS. Further, the workshops introduced a variety of decision-making techniques, including Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) just to name a few. A significant portion of the workshops focused on the structure of qualitative and quantitative research papers. Through detailed discussions, attendees gained insights into the essential components of theoretical contributions, which enhance the thoroughness and relevance of their research. The workshops also provided invaluable advice on conducting literature reviews and highlighted common pitfalls that lead to paper rejections, thereby refining the participants’ research methodologies and academic writing skills.

These workshops facilitated by Prof. Wamba and Prof. Rana were instrumental in empowering future researchers with the tools necessary to address contemporary challenges in academia and industry. The positive testimonials from participants emphasise the transformative impact of these sessions, affirming their pivotal role in encouraging a culture of academic excellence and innovation within the institution.
