Nyasha Mboti is Associate Professor of Communication Studies. His keen interest in academia is to ask questions that people may not ordinarily think to ask. Prof Mboti teaches courses in Introduction to Communication and Communication & Social Change, and supervises Honours, Masters and Doctoral students on topics that include communication, power, race, identity, protest, cultural politics, and social media. He is currently researching possibilities for the emergence of a new theoretical paradigm called "Apartheid Studies", itself the subject of his forthcoming new book Apartheid Studies: An Inquiry into the Nature & Causes of the Wealth of Nations. Apartheid Studies examines how our modern times, framed on a cost-saving capitalist modernity, are constructed, governed, regulated and maintained by "blackbodies" and by a variety of integrated "circuits of apartheid".
