​Dr Imbosa Muhati-Nyakundi is a postdoctoral researcher in the department of Psychology University of Johannesburg. She holds a PhD in Psychology from University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg South Africa, Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Psychology and Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in Education, Languages & Geography, both from Kenyatta University, Nairobi Kenya. Her research interests include: psychosocial support and wellbeing of children and youth in low resourced urban settings; qualitative methods to studying with children from difficult contexts: Children and HIV/AIDS, urban poverty, drug use and abuse amongst youths; gender-based violence, education and leadership, rurality and social justice, and psychology of politics, amongst others. Dr. Imbosa's latest research focuses on vulnerable children in under-resourced urban settings in Kenya and South Africa.
