External Bursaries

Tertiary education can be expensive however, different sponsors and bursars can reward academic excellence and/ or student in need of financial assistance.

We urge students to apply for external bursaries from different companies, municipalities, and government departments.

Always ensure that you adhere to closing dates and the requirements of each bursary when applying.

Application forms and available bursaries are updated on the UJ website (www.uj.ac.za).

Student finance updates UJ website on available bursaries for students to apply should they meet the requirements.

The University Bursary Policy provides for limiting multiple awards to individual students this to ensure that bursary funding is spread out to a larger pool of students. This then introduces the “double dipping” rule.

Dear Bursary student.

UJ Student Finance implemented a new process in 2021 whereby you are requested to accept an online consent form and continue with the process by uploading the required documents via U-Link before your allowances can be allocated.

Failure to do so will result in your allowances, not being allocated.
