Celebrating Success: W&R SETA Graduation Ceremony
At the UJ STH auditorium the department of Marketing Management hosted the W&R SETA graduation ceremony for students who completed their certificate in Retail Management on April 26th. The ceremony featured inspiring speeches from SETA CEO, Mr Tom Mkhwanazi and Mr. Grant Jooste, CEO of Batho Pele, who emphasised humility and community contribution. Former WR-SETA Chair, Dr. Beate Stiehler-Mulder shared her pride in the program’s growth from a pilot to a transformative experience for graduates.
Top achievers Nomthandazo Matlaila and Bongiwe Mhlope recounted their journeys of overcoming doubt to achieve confidence and success through the program. Also in attendance was Dr Semona Pillay, the current WR-SETA Leadership chair who mentioned that one of her objectives is to navigate collaborative opportunities, anchor in knowledge creation, and chart a course towards a future where every student’s potential is not just realised but celebrated. The event wrapped up with a luncheon, offering a chance for networking and celebration among graduates, families, and friends.
