The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, invites you to a talk presented by Prof Teresa Hattingh entitled: Assessment in Engineering Education – turning passion and interest into research

This presentation centers around the power and opportunities that assessment presents in modern engineering education curricula. Some of the more interesting findings from a study on assessment practices
and experiences in an engineering school will be discussed showing relevance for engineering education practice. The presentation will also highlight the journey of turning an interesting idea into a research project.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Prof Teresa Hattingh has recently joined UJ as an Engineering Education Specialist. Prior to this, she has worked in industry, at Wits and at the NWU. She has a PhD in Assessment in Engineering Education and is active in several engineering education research communities and networks
