Speech from the Vice-Chancellor

On behalf of the Council and the Executive Management and staff of UJ, it gives me great pleasure to welcome our University graduands and their guests to this graduation ceremony.

Graduations are both the start and end points of the journeys of our students. The ceremonies are solemn rituals practiced by higher education institutions across the globe that signify for the graduand a celebration of achievement and the attainment of a major milestone in their lives.

More than 9 300 students to graduate during first 2018 graduation series

​The University of Johannesburg (UJ) set a goal to progressively improve the graduation rates of undergraduate and postgraduate students and has achieved it with its 2017 output. More than 9 300 students, who have embraced the fruits of their academic labour, will colour UJ's Kingsway Campus, with solemn gowns during the first 2018 series of UJ's graduation ceremonies.
