About Prof Boitumelo (Tumi) Molebogeng Diale

Prof Boitumelo Diale, (“Prof D” as called by her students and colleagues) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Education, University of Johannesburg. She is also a C2 Rated researcher by the NRF in South Africa. Prof Diale held previous leadership roles in the faculty for the past six years as the Masters Programme Coordinator (2014-2016), Head of the Department of Educational Psychology (2017-2021) and Vice Dean: Teaching and Learning (2021-2022). Prof Diale is a registered Educational Psychologist with the HPCSA and has been an Employee Wellness Practitioner and for the past 19 years. As an academic, Prof Diale’s areas of specialization are Career Psychology, Neurodiversity and Life Orientation. Although Prof Diale works and has the experience and has been an external examiner nationally and internationally in the broad psychology field, as a scholar and researcher, her niche area is in the field of career transitioning across the life span. She currently is working on various research projects combining career transitioning and neurodiverse youth, career transitioning and sexuality studies and career transitioning and rural youth. Prof Diale is the former President of the Convocation at UJ and the current Deputy President, former chair of the South African Career Development Association (SACDA) and the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) Academic Board and currently a board member of both organizations. From 2019 to date, Prof Diale has been appointed a Visiting Professor at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
