Supervision Short Courses
In 2019 the Postgraduate School is offering a series of four short courses focused on research supervision. These Senate-approved courses, accredited through the Faculty of Education, are each worth 20 credits at NQF level 8. They are offered in blended mode, with 10% compulsory contact time and 90 % self-paced online learning. For each course there are three full-day contact sessions at the Postgraduate School on APK Campus, while the rest of the course is on Blackboard. The duration of each course is approximately 3 months. The two courses that will run in the first semester are 'Academic Literacies in Research Supervision' and 'Research Ethics in Postgraduate Supervision'. The other two courses that will be offered in 2019 are 'Supervising Qualitative Research' and 'Supervising Quantitative Research', which will run in the second semester.
The courses are free for UJ academic staff and postdoctoral research fellows, but places are limited. To register your interest in the course/s of your choice, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information on the courses, please contact Pia Lamberti.
