UJ’s Zoology Department continues to reveal the wonderful world of science to talented young minds who attend its annual Junior Scientist Workshop held successfully in Auckland Park, Kingsway campus. The workshop attracted a host of learners from Gauteng primary schools this winter, exposing them to a university environment and an opportunity to conduct scientific experiments in UJ research laboratories.

Monument Primary Grade 5 maths and science boffins, Camilla Veitch and Tanna Goaté said they “thoroughly enjoyed” the workshop after receiving an invitation to attend it from their deputy principal for outstanding academic achievements. “It was a pretty great experience! We learned a lot from the different experiments and loved seeing how really big university is,” they said.
