Vice-Chancellor, Prof Marwala addresses Parliament’s Round Table discussion on the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) participated in a Round Table discussion on the Fourth Industrial Revolution hosted by Parliament on Thursday, 31 May 2018.

The South African Government and the role institutions of higher learning play in ensuring that the vast majority of people benefit from the fast-growing role of technological innovations and convergence in South Africa were central themes to the discussion.
The launch session of dialogue on the Fourth Industrial Revolution was attended by various key stakeholders including ministers of the socio-economic development clusters, a number of industry giants, academic institutions as well as research and development agencies. The delegates presented their ideas and activities regarding the fast-growing role of technological innovations in the country and elsewhere.
