The University of Johannesburg (UJ) Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ihron Rensburg pledged, on behalf of all men at UJ, a commitment to start a “Caring Men at UJ” movement to help build safer and healthier communities.

Prof Rensburg made the commitment during UJ’s annual Women’s Day event hosted by the UJ Library at the Country Club Johannesburg on Wednesday, 7 August 2013.

This pledge coincides with the upcoming National Men’s Rally on gender-based violence set to take place on Saturday, 24 August in Johannesburg. Dubbed “Not In My Name”, the gathering is aimed at bringing together all men in the fight against the scourge of gender-violence in all its different forms and shapes.
