UJ’s Marketing and Communication teams win big at the 2012 MACE Excellence Awards

MACE (Marketing, Advancement and Communication in Education) hosted their annual conference and awards ceremony in Cape Town from 10 – 12 October, where the University of Johannesburg (UJ) walked away with seven awards.​

The Marketing and Brand department, as well as the Strategic Communication department of the university were both honoured for their achievements over the past year at the awards ceremony on Thursday, 11 October.

MACE is a body of professionals and industry experts that fulfils a leadership role in the Higher Education and Further Education and Training sectors across Southern Africa. The organisation adds value to practitioners in Marketing, Communication and Advancement through high quality development programmes, facilitating networking partnerships and transformation, as well as promoting best practices amongst these professions at member institutions.

Marketing and Brand was honoured with Excellence Awards in the following categories and for the following campaigns and initiatives:

· Integrated Campaign: Be Anything You Want to Be – this is how all media fit together, and includes:

o Billboards

o Outdoor – street poles

o Radio advert

o TV advert

o All print – flyers, magazines, etc.​​

· Billboards

· New Media: Coffee Cups

· New Media: Concertina Postcards

Strategic Communication was also honoured with Excellence Awards in the following categories and for the following campaigns and initiatives:

· External Publications: Annual Reports

· Internal Campaigns (Student Communication): BF4F

· External Awareness Campaigns: Let’s Be Clear

UJ’s Division for Institutional Advancement has definitely earned bragging rights, setting itself apart from the rest as one of the leaders in the industry.
