UJ’s Law Career Fair introduces students to potential employers

The Faculty of Law at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in collaboration with the Centre for Psychological Services and Career Development (PsyCad) held its annual Law Career Fair on Tuesday, 19 April 2016 at the Auckland Park Kingsway Campus.

The largest attorneys’ firms in the country, and other organisations within the legal industry, support the UJ Law Career Fair and students have the opportunity to discuss their future with potential employers.

“We remain proud of the fact that the University attracts the foremost employers interested in recruiting our high-calibre, sought-after graduates and diplomats”, says Liesl Scheepers, Coordinator-Recruitment Programme: Career Services.

“Students have the opportunity to engage on a one-on-one basis with various top law firms in Johannesburg. This is a unique opportunity for students to expand their horizon – if you want to meet the employers of choice and have all your questions on articles of clerkship, quality training, legal skills, vacation work, the side-bar, etc. answered, this is the place to be,” concluded Scheepers.

The Law Faculty and PsyCad joined forces to present the first ever Law Recruitment Day in 2009. This was repeated every year ever since. In 2011, the focus shifted from recruitment only to law as a career.
