UJ’s Applied Chemistry teams up with world’s leading beauty brand

​Collaborations between L’Oreal, France’s Research & Innovation Division and the Department of Applied Chemistry at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) have been agreed upon in principle.

 

Dr Céline Farcet and Dr Albert Duranton from the cosmetic group L’Oreal, France visited Prof Bhekie Mamba, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science, and staff of the Department of Applied Chemistry to discuss collaborations with the Department.
At the most recent meeting held in June, UJ and L’Oreal, France agreed – in principle – to work together, share skills and expertise and to look at issues of water treatment and water purification. The French delegates were invited by Mr Jason Eason who initiated possible research collaborations with Prof Bhekie Mamba together with Ms Poonam Sewraj, Clinical Researcher at L’Oreal South Africa.
