This was the first fundraising Golf Day event for the rugby club. While the organisers were raising funds for the club, they were also strengthening ties between the club and the current sponsors, create networking opportunities for the University’s alumni and businesspersons.
“This was a fun day. The facilities and the accommodation were great. I would like to thank the UJ Rugby and the Parkview Golf Clubs for hosting such a beautiful and successful golf event,” said De Waal.

“We started off quite rough due to some fatigue from the previous day. However, we were able to pick up the momentum and played a good game of gold. It was nice,” says Coetzee.
The Golf Day was a first for UJ Rugby Club, the event was hosted in a bid to attract potential sponsors and strengthen relationships with the current sponsors while the alumnus, student-athletes got to network over playing golf.
“We feel very honoured. It is the first 2022 UJ Rugby Golf Day and it means a lot for us as UJ students as well.
