UJ Lecturer appointed as Associate Editor for ASCE Journal.
The Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal established in 1989 by the American Society of Civil Engineers. It covers research and best practices concerns on development, processing, evaluation, applications, and performance of construction materials in civil engineering. It consists of four sections: cementitious material, asphalt, geo-materials, and hybrids (which encompass steel, timber, masonry, and composite materials).
Mr Deon Kruger, Senior Lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering Science, has been appointed as an Associate Editor on the editorial board of the highly ranked American Society of Civil Engineering Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering.
In expressing gratitude, Mr Kruger says, “I am honoured to have been tasked with these editorial duties for this eminent journal and, as per Maslow’s (1943) hierarchy, see this as one of my peak achievements in the process of self-actualization and self-fulfilment.”
