Date: Feb 11, 2014 | News

How relevant is the 2013 matric results debate? What importance does such dialogue hold for South Africa’s economy? Does the national certificate have any standing with matriculants? These are some of the pertinent questions that will be answered through a panel discussion at the University of Johannesburg.

Matric Results 2013: In Retrospect will be the focus the 8th Education Conversations, hosted by the Faculty of Education, UJ, in partnership with Kagiso Trust. The session is scheduled for 8am on Wednesday, 19 February 2014 at the University’s School of Tourism and Hospitality, Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus, Johannesburg.
The panel members are: Prof Sarah Gravett (Executive Dean at the Faculty of Education, UJ); Mr Nic Spaull (Education Researcher at the University of Stellenbosch) and Dr Boitomelo Moreeng (Discipline Coordinator at the School of Social Sciences and Language Education, University of the Free State).
The Education Conversations’ series, launched in April 2012, is aimed at encouraging our nation to talk and to create a space for on-going debate and discussion through which diverse voices can be considered.
